International Entrepreneurship
Among the Board of Advisors are members who have strong international trade experience in Asia and North America. One does not have to be a large multinational corporation to conduct a multinational transaction. As an example, one of the members sourced out used paper cup manufacturing lines from the United States in mid 1990’s and supplied turnkey to China. Trade financing and shipping was arranged in Vancouver. Insurance was underwritten through Lloyds Insurance in U.K. A project manager was sent from Vancouver to commission the equipment in China.
Another member is a leading supplier and distributor of consumer products in North America and also has strong relationships with the higher echelons of trade and business organizations in China.
With an increasing pool of immigrants coming from all over the world, and who bring along their skills, experiences and connections that they already had from their former countries, collaboration and co-operation with established mainstream Canadian companies will be another avenue of synergy that the Enterprise Centre wishes to promote.
